1. Purpose

This Refund & Cancellation Policy ("Policy") governs all payments, bookings, cancellations, rescheduling requests, refunds, credits, reversals, chargebacks, and related financial matters concerning services offered by Meritza Classes ("Meritza Classes", "Platform", "we", "our", or "us").

By purchasing, booking, scheduling, or using any Platform service, users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Policy.

This Policy forms an integral part of the Meritza Classes Terms & Conditions and shall be interpreted together with all other applicable Platform policies.

2. General Policy

Meritza Classes allocates mentor availability, scheduling resources, operational support, administrative services, and platform resources immediately upon confirmation of a booking.

Accordingly, all purchases are generally considered final unless expressly stated otherwise in this Policy.

Users are encouraged to carefully review service details before making any payment.

3. No Guarantee of Outcomes

Users acknowledge and agree that:

  • Academic improvement cannot be guaranteed.
  • Examination results cannot be guaranteed.
  • Admission outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
  • Scholarship outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
  • Placement outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
  • Career success cannot be guaranteed.

Refund requests based on dissatisfaction with academic results, examination performance, admissions decisions, rankings, or similar outcomes shall not be eligible for refund consideration.

4. Eligibility for Refund Consideration

Refunds may only be considered in exceptional circumstances, including:

4.1 Duplicate Payment

Where a user accidentally makes multiple payments for the same service.

4.2 Verified Technical Error

Where a payment is successfully processed but the booked service cannot be delivered due solely to a verified Platform-related technical failure.

4.3 Unauthorized Transaction

Where a transaction is proven to be unauthorized following investigation and verification.

4.4 Regulatory Requirement

Where applicable law requires a refund despite any contrary provision in this Policy.

All refund requests remain subject to verification and approval by Meritza Classes.

5. Non-Refundable Circumstances

Unless otherwise required by law, refunds shall not be granted for:

  • Change of mind.
  • Lack of student participation.
  • Scheduling conflicts.
  • Examination stress.
  • Academic performance concerns.
  • Dissatisfaction with grades or rankings.
  • Failure to attend sessions.
  • Internet connectivity issues on the user's side.
  • Device malfunctions.
  • User negligence.
  • Parent or student preference changes.
  • Mentor personality preferences.
  • Relocation.
  • Time-zone misunderstandings.
  • Failure to utilize purchased sessions.
  • Suspension arising from policy violations.
  • Termination resulting from misconduct.
  • Circumvention attempts.
  • Unauthorized contact sharing.

Unused sessions do not automatically qualify for refunds.

6. Session Cancellation by Users

6.1 More Than 24 Hours Before Session

Where cancellation is requested more than twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled session, Meritza Classes may, at its sole discretion:

  • Allow rescheduling.
  • Issue a service credit.
  • Apply another reasonable resolution.

Cash refunds are not guaranteed.

6.2 Less Than 24 Hours Before Session

Requests made within twenty-four (24) hours of the scheduled session may be treated as a consumed session.

No refund obligation shall arise.

7. No-Show Policy

A session may be considered completed if:

  • The student fails to attend.
  • The parent fails to attend where required.
  • The user joins significantly late.
  • The user becomes unavailable during the scheduled session.

Where a mentor remains available for the scheduled session, Meritza Classes may treat the session as delivered.

Such sessions shall generally be non-refundable.

8. Mentor Unavailability

Where a mentor becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, Meritza Classes may, at its sole discretion:

  • Reschedule the session.
  • Assign a replacement mentor.
  • Provide equivalent service credits.
  • Offer another reasonable solution.

Refunds shall not be automatic solely because a specific mentor becomes unavailable.

9. Platform Cancellations

Meritza Classes reserves the right to cancel, postpone, reschedule, suspend, or modify services where necessary due to:

  • Operational requirements.
  • Safety concerns.
  • Policy violations.
  • Technical issues.
  • Force majeure events.
  • Mentor availability issues.
  • Compliance requirements.

The Platform may determine the most appropriate remedy on a case-by-case basis.

10. Package Purchases

Where services are purchased as a package, bundle, subscription, program, cohort, mentorship plan, or multi-session offering:

  • Individual sessions may not be separately refundable.
  • Partial usage may reduce or eliminate refund eligibility.
  • Administrative and operational costs may be deducted where legally permissible.

Unused portions do not automatically qualify for proportional refunds.

11. Service Credits

Where Meritza Classes elects to provide compensation, such compensation may be issued in the form of:

  • Service credits.
  • Session credits.
  • Rescheduled sessions.
  • Alternative mentorship opportunities.
  • Other non-cash remedies.

The Platform reserves the right to determine the form of compensation.

12. Refund Request Procedure

Users seeking refund consideration must submit:

  • Full name.
  • Registered contact information.
  • Transaction reference number.
  • Date of payment.
  • Description of the issue.
  • Supporting documentation.

Requests should be submitted through official Platform support channels.

Incomplete requests may be rejected.

13. Investigation Rights

Before approving, rejecting, or processing any refund request, Meritza Classes reserves the right to:

  • Review account records.
  • Review session records.
  • Review communications.
  • Verify attendance.
  • Review transaction details.
  • Request additional documentation.
  • Conduct internal investigations.

Users agree to cooperate fully with such investigations.

14. Refund Processing Timelines

Where a refund is approved:

  • Processing timelines may vary depending on payment method.
  • Banking systems.
  • Payment gateway procedures.
  • Regulatory requirements.

Meritza Classes does not guarantee specific processing times once a refund has been released to the payment provider.

15. Chargeback Policy

Users agree not to initiate chargebacks, payment reversals, payment disputes, or similar claims without first contacting Meritza Classes and providing a reasonable opportunity to investigate and resolve the matter.

Where a chargeback is initiated, Meritza Classes may:

  • Contest the chargeback.
  • Provide evidence to financial institutions.
  • Suspend user accounts.
  • Restrict Platform access.
  • Recover associated costs and fees.
  • Pursue legal remedies where appropriate.

Evidence may include:

  • Payment records.
  • Attendance records.
  • Session logs.
  • Communications.
  • Policy acknowledgements.
  • User activity records.

16. Fraud Prevention

Meritza Classes reserves the right to deny refund requests where fraud, abuse, manipulation, misrepresentation, circumvention, or bad-faith conduct is suspected.

Suspicious refund patterns may result in account restrictions or termination.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

Meritza Classes shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from any refund, cancellation, scheduling, or payment-related dispute.

Any liability shall remain subject to the limitations set forth in the Terms & Conditions.

18. Platform Discretion

Users acknowledge that Meritza Classes retains sole discretion in evaluating refund requests, provided that such discretion is exercised in good faith and in accordance with applicable law.

Nothing in this Policy shall be interpreted as creating an automatic right to a refund unless expressly required by law.

19. Policy Modifications

Meritza Classes reserves the right to amend, replace, modify, or update this Policy at any time.

Updated versions shall become effective upon publication on the Platform.

Continued use of Platform services constitutes acceptance of revised versions.

20. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising under or relating to this Policy shall be governed by the dispute resolution provisions contained in the Meritza Classes Terms & Conditions.

The parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith discussions before initiating arbitration proceedings.

21. Governing Law

This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.

Subject to applicable arbitration provisions, courts located in Delhi, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
